Grief Exhaustion …

Grief exhaustion or fatigue is real. Whilst there is great emphasis on the emotional process, we must not forget the physical impact.

Grief exhaustion can leave us feeling drained, both physically and mentally, making even the simplest of tasks seem overwhelming. Even our normal, everyday activities may feel like too much with our physical body refusing to co-operate.

We may even feel so exhausted that we worry about whether we are experiencing a mental health condition. Rest assured, this grief fog will eventually lift.

Remember, it is important to recognise and understand that grief is not a linear process, it may bring exhaustion, we may become sympathetic dominant for an extended period, and in these moments, our bodies might respond with symptoms such as increased inflammation, joint pain, headaches, and digestive discomfort.

Simply having someone present, who can help us understand, acknowledge and address grief exhaustion allows for better navigation through this process. We can gradually restore our energy and return to being well.

What you are feeling is real - we see you, we hear you, and what you say matters.

Come - we are here for you.
