Prior to Your Appointment
Preparing for your Colonic Session
- Ensure you are well hydrated before your appointment. Up your water intake a few days before. This will help to move fecal matter along, hydrate your body at cellular level and encourage a deeper cleanse.
- Avoid or reduce caffeine, alcohol and carbonated drinks as they are a diuretic and dehydrating to the body. Carbonated drinks produce gas in the digestive tract which causes bloating and can make a your session uncomfortable and less effective.
- Eating light, clean foods a day or two before your treatment is ideal. We encourage green salads and vegetables as they are high in fibre, which aids in constipation relief and helps the bowels flow more regularly.
- Do not eat solid foods for two hours before your appointment
Several treatments may be necessary to clean the faecal waste that has accumulated over years in the bowel, which is 1.5 to 2 metres long. For this reason we may recommend a starter course of 3 or 6 treatments.
We practice ethically, taking an individual, holistic approach with each patient to determine the best protocol for their needs and recommend how to move forward.
During your session we will give nutritional and lifestyle advice and may recommend a high quality probiotic culture to restock the bowel flora. The improved environment combined with good nutrition will encourage the “good bacteria” to grow, boosting your immune system, bowel health and overall well-being.
