Giving Our Self Permission …

Some of us get caught in the belief that if we are not doing anything or achieving something, we are wasting our time. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Although we might not be working, learning, burning calories or building muscle.

What we are doing is tapping into the part of our nervous system that knows how to repair, recharge, replenish - our parasympathetic nervous system. The ripple effect is a more calm, relaxed, serene mind shifting the body into healing.

80-90% of dis-ease can be connected to stress, so there may not be many more important things we can be doing than the simple act of stopping.

A big part of our practice is giving our patients permission to indulge in the time, and space of letting go in the clinic, and teaching them how to create this ritual every day of their life.

We see patients regularly who have been constantly pushing and striving to 'fix' themselves - too much, too fast and it often leads to scatter, confusion, and deregulation.

What is happening in our life will determine if we need to ground and have stability or if we need to be curious in growth.

A gentle reminder:

S - Stop
T - Take 3 deep breaths
O - Observe what is happening in body
P - Proceed slowly, gently with kindness
